I want to give away my iPad!

iPad 2 32gb

I have a challenge for my readers, and although not everyone will win an iPad, everyone will get something!

If I can sell 3,500 books this month–and by the way, that’s a TON in my world and I’ve never done it before–I will have a drawing using the names of all the people who’ve “LIKED” my Facebook page (as of 12:01am on March 1, 2013). The person whose name I draw will win my beloved (and well-cared for) 32gb WiFi iPad 2, which is engraved with a motto that I live by on the back. That person will also receive a $25 iTunes or Amazon gift card, a never-before-seen chapter from the upcoming sequel to Contessa (called Olivia), and (at least) part of the prequel to Steven’s series.

What about everyone else? A few days after the winner gets the snippets from Olivia and Steven’s prequel, I’ll post those to my blog and give the password to everyone who’s “LIKED” my Facebook page.

Sound like something you’d like? Then please help spread the word!  Click here for all the places I sell my books, and share this with your friends. If you don’t want to hard-sell your friends, you can do other things that help, like leave ratings and/or reviews on Amazon and Goodreads. Those things help increase visibility of the books.

I’m doing my part to help, too. Until February 10, people can get the Emi Lost & Found series (including Lost and Found, Time Stands Still and Never Look Back) at 25% off by using the code WY25C on Smashwords. In addition to that, I’ll be running another promotion with BookBub later in the month for one of my books.

Why am I doing this? Because I really, really, really want to be a full-time author. For the past two weeks, I’ve been inundated with new and wonderful story ideas, but I’ve come home from my 8-5 job feeling so tired and run down that I can’t write. I have pages and pages of Evernote entries and dozens of voice memos that are waiting to be transcribed. I’ve got three different characters ‘talking’ to me right now, and if I’m not able to get back to writing soon, I’m afraid I’ll lose the inspiration. So I would appreciate your help, however you can help.

  1. This is such a good idea. I may have to do something similar to this at some point. I hope you achieve what you want to, and if you keep trying, I think you’ll make it some day. It might take another year or two, or even more, but you have the drive and you have the talent. Best of luck to you in all of your endeavours and never give up! 🙂 You’ve got a lot of people rooting for you, and you can count me among them.

  2. Lori, your stories are awesome! I can’t imagine how difficult it is to have to work a full workday on a regular job and then try to write a story. I hope it happens for you, too! (Heidi Hines)
